Message from the ALMA Team: As you are all aware hospitality is facing increased pressures on a variety of fronts, including: Increased costs - this includes rising wage bills, National Insurance, VAT, PAYE, food prices, beer prices, utility prices, insurance, business rates, to name but a few Changing footfall - since Covid there has been a switch by customers and a definite change in when customers visit hospitality venues. We at the Alma Tavern are not exempt from this. We have seen a switch by customers to evenings and weekends, and as a result our lunchtime trade has reduced. We have worked hard to move with the times, developed new menus, introduced a carvery, reconfigured the pub to defined dining and bar areas, offer quizzes, karaoke, live entertainment and bingo, and listen to our customer voice in order that we offer the pub that customers want. Despite this constant review and change, we still see footfall at lunchtimes remain low. This decision has not been an easy one but a necessary one given the reasons outlined above. We would take this opportunity to thank the whole local community for their continued support and we look forward to serving you in the future.

Alma Tavern wins Worcester News Best Pub
GLASSES are raised at a popular family pub which has been crowned the winner of Worcester News Best Pub.
The accolade has gone to Alma Tavern on Droitwich Road in Worcester after hundreds of people cast their vote in the competition.
Alma Tavern is owned by ex-policeman Jon Dean and hospitality savant Will Bradley and over the years they are proud of the community they have built. Despite the pair having announced they were set to leave the pub earlier in the year following health issues and the loss of several family members the GOOD News is that they have reversed their decision and are here to stay!
Mr Dean said: "We're over the moon to have won the competition. It's a fantastic endorsement of everything we have achieved". He added: "The local community have supported us through the last two years which have been very challenging for everyone. Over the years, the pub has earned a reputation for always being there for the community of Worcester. We run lots of events for the community including live music, disco rooms for children and we have four tv screens in different locations in the pub, so people can choose where they want to watch games."
